Play Super Mario World - The Legend of Pirra Online

Super Mario World came out on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, developed and published by Nintendo. It was one of those games that really showed what the SNES could do, with bigger levels and more color than anything on the NES. You control Mario, or Luigi if you have a second player, running and jumping through a large overworld map to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser. The game introduces Yoshi, a dinosaur you can ride who eats enemies and gains temporary powers from certain shells. You explore levels screen by screen, often finding multiple exits that unlock new paths on the map. The pacing is quick, but the difficulty builds steadily, asking for precise jumps and smart use of the cape power-up. It feels great to play because your movements are so fluid and responsive.
