Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Arcade Attack came out for the Nintendo DS in 2009, published by Ubisoft. It was part of that wave of DS games that tried to capture the spirit of older beat 'em ups, fitting right in with the system's library of action titles.
You choose one of the four turtles and fight through side-scrolling levels, clearing each screen of enemies before moving forward. The main goal is to stop Shredder and the Foot Clan by battling through waves of foes and defeating large bosses. You use basic attacks and special moves, which drain a meter, and can pick up items like pizza to restore health. The game moves at a steady pace and can get fairly tough, especially in later stages. It feels like a straightforward, energetic brawler that works well for quick sessions.
