Game Overview

I first played The Adventures of Alice on a floppy disk from the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though I don't recall the developer's name. It was one of those early PC titles that tried to translate the absurdity of Lewis Carroll's world into something interactive, using simple graphics and text parsers that felt ambitious for the time. You knew you were in for something strange, not polished, but earnest in its attempt to capture a peculiar kind of logic.

You control Alice, navigating through a series of interconnected screens representing different parts of Wonderland. The main goal involves solving environmental puzzles and conversing with characters to progress, often by finding the right item or saying the correct phrase. Signature mechanics include using a 'shrink and grow' mechanic to access new areas, and an inventory system where objects like a bottle or a cake directly affect your size and options. The pacing is deliberate, sometimes slow, with a difficulty that comes more from obscure puzzle logic than reflexes. It feels like untangling a very silly, very stubborn knot.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
