Play The Crack of Doom Online

I first played The Crack of Doom as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though I never found out who originally made it. It was one of those early DOS platformers that felt raw and unpolished, but it had a certain grim charm that stuck with me. The game drops you into a collapsing dungeon with no backstory, just a simple goal: get out before everything falls apart.

You control a small, nameless adventurer who runs, jumps, and climbs through a series of single-screen rooms. Each room is a self-contained puzzle full of traps like falling rocks, moving spikes, and crumbling ledges. The main challenge is timing your movements perfectly while also keeping track of which routes are still passable as the level literally breaks apart around you. It’s brutally difficult, with instant death waiting behind almost every mistake, but finally clearing a tough section after dozens of attempts gives a real sense of accomplishment. Playing it feels like a tense race against both the level and your own reflexes.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
