You bounce off Koopas, ride Yoshi through secret exits, and get lost in those twisty underground pipes—somehow it never gets old. That one Donut Plains level still tricks me every time.

Game Overview

Super Mario World on SNES is one of those games that just feels right the second you start playing. The controls are snappy, the colors pop, and that first time you hop on Yoshi’s back? Pure joy. I remember getting stuck on some of the secret exits for ages—like that one in Donut Plains where you have to find the hidden key—but stumbling onto them by accident was half the fun.

The levels are packed with little surprises, too. Some pipes lead to bonus rooms, others dump you into a maze of vines, and every now and then, you’ll spot a weird-looking level exit that makes you wonder, "Wait, was that supposed to happen?" And yeah, the music’s still stuck in my head decades later.

It’s one of those rare games where even the frustrating bits (looking at you, Tubular) don’t ruin the magic. If you’ve never played it, you’re in for a treat—and if you have, it’s just as good as you remember.
