The New Super Mario World came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990, developed and published by Nintendo. Signature mechanics include riding Yoshi, who can eat enemies and flutter jump, and discovering multiple exits that open up secret routes. The pacing is quick but fair, with hidden blocks and shortcuts rewarding exploration. It feels responsive and full of little surprises, like the way a well timed spin jump can clear a whole row of foes. Playing it is just pure, straightforward fun.
