Game Overview

I first played The Secret of Monkey Island back in the early 90s on MS-DOS, a Lucasfilm Games release that stood out among the point-and-click adventures of the time. It didn't rely on flashy graphics or action; instead, it offered a clever, witty world that felt genuinely fresh compared to other titles on the platform.

You control Guybrush Threepwood, a young man determined to become a pirate, as you explore a series of Caribbean islands screen by screen. The main goal is to uncover the secret of Monkey Island, but you spend most of your time solving inventory-based puzzles, engaging in insult sword fights, and conversing with eccentric characters. The pacing is relaxed, letting you soak in the humor and atmosphere, though some puzzles can be delightfully obscure. Playing it feels like stepping into a clever, interactive comedy where every interaction brings a smile.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
