Game Overview

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater on Game Boy Color is way more fun than it has any right to be. Yeah, the graphics are chunky and the controls take a second to get used to, but once you nail that first kickflip-to-grind combo, it just clicks. You’ve got real skaters like Tony and Bucky Lasek, each with their own stats—some are better at vert, others street, so you kinda have to experiment.

The levels are tiny compared to the console versions, but they packed in all the ramps, rails, and secret areas you’d expect. Found myself replaying the warehouse level just to beat my high score. And that soundtrack? Even in tinny GBC sound, it’s got that punk vibe that makes you wanna keep playing. Definitely a solid pocket-sized version of the classic.
