Transformers: Autobots for the Nintendo DS came out in 2007, published by Activision. It was part of that wave of tie-in games for the first live-action movie, and it felt very much of its time on the handheld, trying to deliver a decent 3D action experience on hardware that was really pushing its limits.

You play as a custom-created Autobot, fighting alongside Optimus Prime and the others to stop the Decepticons. The core loop involves driving around open city areas, engaging in third-person combat against enemy robots, and of course, transforming between vehicle and robot modes with a quick tap on the touch screen. Missions have you protecting key locations, escorting allies, or hunting specific targets, and the pacing is fairly straightforward, though the controls can feel a bit stiff until you adjust. It’s a simple, satisfying power trip to roll out, blast a few Decepticons, and then speed away before they can recover.
