Play Transformers - Autobots (S)(Dark Eternal Team) Online

Transformers: Autobots for the Nintendo DS came out in 2007, published by Activision. It was one of the tie-in games for the live-action movie, and it fit right in with the era's portable action titles. You got to be an Autobot on a small screen, which felt pretty ambitious at the time.

You control Optimus Prime or one of the other Autobots, moving through urban environments to complete missions and fight Decepticons. The main goal is to protect Earth by stopping Megatron's plans. The key mechanics are the transformation itself, switching between robot and vehicle mode with a button press, and a targeting system for ranged combat. The pacing is fairly straightforward, mission to mission, with some exploration between fights. It feels a little clunky by today's standards, but nailing a smooth transformation mid-combat still delivers a solid thrill.
