Treasure Mathstorm came out in 1992 as part of The Learning Company's MS-DOS Classic Games series. It was a time when educational software often tried to disguise learning as something more exciting, and this game fit right into that era without pretending to be anything it wasn't. You played as a climber trying to scale a mountain, and the whole thing had a straightforward, almost utilitarian feel that was common for the platform.

You control a small character who moves screen by screen up a frozen mountain, avoiding enemies and environmental hazards like bottomless pits and floating snowballs. The main objective is to reach the summit and recover stolen treasure, but progress is gated by math problems; you have to solve equations to open doors or disable obstacles. The pacing is deliberate, with each screen presenting a new puzzle or enemy pattern to learn, and the difficulty escalates steadily as you climb. It feels like a slow, thoughtful puzzle platformer where every move requires a bit of calculation.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
