Game Overview

Virtua Cop on the Sega Saturn is that classic light gun shooter where you’re basically thrown into chaos as a cop trying to clean up some crime-riddled city. You pick one of two officers, grab your revolver, and suddenly you’re ducking behind cover while gangsters pop out of everywhere—windows, alleys, even from behind innocent-looking fruit stands.

The first level eases you in, but don’t get comfortable. By the time you hit the docks or the underground base, enemies come at you faster than you can reload. The cool part? You’re not stuck with just a pistol. Smash open crates mid-level and you might snag a shotgun or machine gun, which feels like cheating (in a good way) when you’re staring down a boss with way too much health.

It’s arcade-style shooting at its best—no complicated controls, just point and try not to accidentally shoot civilians (who, by the way, panic and run right into your line of fire). The two-player mode is where it really shines, though. Nothing like yelling at your friend for stealing all the power-ups while you both barely survive a hail of bullets.

Just don’t expect deep storytelling—this is pure, adrenaline-fueled target practice with a badge.
