Play Waynes World Online

Game Overview

Wayne's World came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by THQ. It was one of those many licensed games from the era, trying to capture the spirit of a popular movie on a cartridge. You got a lot of that back then, games based on films or TV shows, and this one was no exception, aiming right for fans of the party-on humor from the movie.

You control Wayne, or sometimes Garth in two-player mode, moving through side-scrolling levels based on locations from the film. The main goal is to fight your way to the end of each stage, punching out a parade of enemies like angry mascots and security guards. You collect guitar power-ups to unleash screen-clearing special attacks, and there are a few vehicle sections to break up the walking and punching. It moves at a decent clip, but the hit detection can be a little unforgiving, making some encounters more frustrating than fun. Playing it feels like a chaotic, slightly janky tribute to a very specific kind of 90s comedy.
