Game Overview

Wizardry II picks up right after the first game—Llylgamyn’s in deep trouble, and your old party (or a fresh one, if you’re brave) has to dive into another brutal dungeon to find the Knight of Diamonds’ armor. No training grounds this time, so if your crew isn’t already leveled up from the first game, good luck surviving the first few fights. It’s merciless.

The dungeon’s smaller—only six levels—but every floor matters. You’ve got to hunt down pieces of the Knight’s armor scattered throughout, and there’s no cheesing it with elevators or teleporting ahead. Spells are a bit stronger now, and you can finally save inside the dungeon instead of trekking all the way back to town. Small mercy, honestly.

Same classes and races as before, but alignment matters more—good and evil characters won’t party up unless you’ve got neutrals smoothing things over. Lords and ninjas? Never. But a neutral samurai can hang with anyone. Spells are split between priests and mages, with hybrids like bishops getting both. Stats still range from 3 to 18, so expect a lot of rerolling if you’re picky.

It’s classic Wizardry—grueling, methodical, and weirdly satisfying when you finally scrape together that last piece of armor.
