WiZmans World is this weird little DS gem I stumbled onto years ago—it’s got that classic top-down Zelda vibe but with way more spells and way weirder enemies. You start off in this tiny wizard village where everyone talks in exaggerated pixelated gestures, and before long you’re chucking fireballs at walking mushrooms while trying not to get lost in the maze-like forests.

The magic system’s the real hook—you mix and match elements mid-combat, so one minute you’re freezing puddles to cross gaps, the next you’re accidentally setting your own hat on fire. Some of the puzzles made me want to flip a table (in a good way), especially when the game stops holding your hand around the second dungeon. If you’re into that particular brand of janky, charming 2000s DS RPGs, this one’s got personality to spare.
