I first played Adventures of Batman and Robin on the Super Nintendo back in 1994, a Konami release that really tried to capture the look of the animated series. It was one of those games that felt right at home on the SNES, with its detailed sprites and moody color palette doing a lot of the storytelling. You could tell they put effort into making it feel like you were inside an episode, even if the hardware had its limits.

You control Batman, or sometimes Robin in two-player mode, moving through stages screen by screen to stop villains like the Joker or Mr. Freeze. The main objective is straightforward: fight through each stage, defeat the boss, and move on. Your main tools are batarangs for attacking from a distance and a close-range punch, but you also get gadgets like grenades and a grapple hook for reaching higher platforms. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty spikes hard in later levels, demanding precise jumps and quick reactions to enemy patterns. It feels like a constant, tense scramble to survive each new screen.
