Game Overview

I picked up The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends on the Super Nintendo back in 1993, a game developed by Radical Entertainment. It was one of those licensed titles that popped up a lot on the SNES, trying to capture the spirit of the cartoon with varying degrees of success. The graphics and sound did a decent job of bringing the show's goofy world to the 16-bit screen, even if it wasn't pushing the hardware to its limits.

You control either Rocky or Bullwinkle, switching between them depending on the stage. Rocky handles the flying sections, where you dodge obstacles and shoot at enemies with careful precision. Bullwinkle's stages are platforming affairs, full of clumsy jumps and comical enemy interactions. The main goal is to stop Boris and Natasha across a series of themed levels, collecting items and navigating environmental hazards. The difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially during some of the faster flying sequences. Playing it feels like stepping into a Saturday morning cartoon, complete with all its silly charm and occasional frustrations.
