Game Overview

Amazing Island is one of those weird, charming GameCube games that sticks with you. You start by designing this ridiculous monster—like, full-on Frankenstein mode with mismatched limbs, goofy faces, and whatever else you can slap together. Mine looked like a potato with wings, which... didn’t help in the races.

The whole point is to train your creature through these chaotic minigames (think button-mashing sprints, awkward flying contests) to drive out the "Black Evil." It sounds dramatic, but really, you’re just watching your lumpy creation fail spectacularly until you grind enough stats. Pro tip: don’t make a slow, heavy monster if you want any shot at winning the jumping events.

What’s cool is unlocking new parts and abilities as you go—your creature evolves from a sad lump into a slightly less sad lump with, say, rocket feet. And yeah, the GBA connectivity was neat for showing off your abominations to friends, though good luck finding someone else who owned this niche gem.

It’s janky, it’s silly, and honestly? I’d still play it today just for the creature creator alone.
