Play Asterix on Snes Online

Pick Asterix or Obelix and wreck Roman camps—punch soldiers sky-high, toss menhirs like they're nothing, and chug potion when you're in trouble. The SNES nails that comic book chaos, especially when Obelix's belly wobbles as he runs.

Game Overview

I remember picking up Asterix on the Super Nintendo back in 1993. It was developed by Infogrames, and it felt right at home on the SNES, a system packed with colorful action platformers. The game captured the look of the comics well, with big, expressive sprites and those classic Roman camps to tear through.

You control either Asterix or Obelix, moving screen by screen to clear out enemies and find keys to unlock new areas. Asterix can punch and use a temporary super punch after drinking magic potion, while Obelix relies on his brute strength to toss menhirs and send legionaries flying. The main goal is to rescue Getafix from the Romans, which involves a lot of backtracking and careful exploration. The pacing is deliberate, and some sections can be surprisingly tough, demanding good timing to avoid traps and enemy attacks. It feels like a solid, hands-on brawler where every punch and throw has a satisfying weight to it.
