Game Overview
Battletoads on Game Boy is basically what happens when someone took the idea of "heroic toads" and cranked the chaos to 11. You play as Rash and Zitz (or Pimple if you’ve got a buddy), smashing through levels that keep switching up the gameplay—one minute you’re brawling through waves of enemies, the next you’re dodging spikes on a turbo bike. The Dark Queen kidnapped your crew, and honestly? She should’ve known better.
It’s got that classic '90s difficulty—expect to die a lot, especially on that infamous speeder bike level. But when you finally nail a section after the 20th try, it feels amazing. The sprites are chunky and full of attitude, and the soundtrack slaps harder than the toads’ oversized fists. Just don’t expect mercy.
This version’s a little stripped down from the NES original, but it’s still pure, unfiltered Battletoads. If you’ve got patience and a love for absurd, punishing action, it’s a blast.
