Game Overview

Battletoads on Game Boy is basically what happens when someone took the idea of "heroic toads" and cranked it up to eleven. You play as Rash and Zitz (or Pimple if you've got a friend along), smashing through enemies with oversized fists and some seriously weird attacks—like turning into a wrecking ball mid-jump. The Dark Queen kidnapped your crew, so naturally, you’re punching everything in sight to get them back.

It starts off simple—beat up some goons, hop across platforms—but then suddenly you're dodging insta-kill obstacles on a turbo bike or free-falling down a tunnel full of spikes. The difficulty spikes hard, and I’m not kidding. One minute you’re laughing at the absurdity of toad combat, the next you’re resetting for the 20th time on that damn hoverbike level.

It’s janky, punishing, and somehow still fun in a "rage-quit-but-come-back-later" kind of way. If you grew up with this, you either loved it or threw your Game Boy across the room. No in-between.
