Game Overview

Beyond Wolfenstein 2 came out in 1999 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a re-release of the original 1991 title by id Software. It was a time when shareware was common, and games like this defined the early first-person shooter genre on PC, relying on fast action and simple but effective level design.

You control an Allied spy infiltrating a Nazi fortress, moving room by room through maze-like corridors while collecting keys, health packs, and ammo. The main goal is to find the elevator on each floor, but you'll face guards, dogs, and officers who raise alarms if not taken down quietly. Combat is straightforward with a knife and pistols at first, though you eventually get access to machine guns for louder confrontations. The pacing is relentless, with limited saves and health making every encounter tense. It feels raw and immediate, a game where quick reflexes and memorization matter more than story.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
