Brain Age 2 is basically your daily brain gym, but way more fun than it sounds. You’ll scribble math problems with the stylus, try to remember random words, and even hum notes to match melodies—all while this little digital Dr. Kawashima judges your "brain age" (mine started embarrassingly high).

The minigames are quick—like, "waiting for coffee to brew" quick—but weirdly satisfying when you shave seconds off your time. I kept getting stuck on the word memory one until I realized shouting the answers at my DS didn’t actually help. The Sudoku mode alone ate up more of my commute than I’d like to admit.

It’s the kind of game that makes you feel productive even when you’re just lying on the couch poking at a screen.
