Game Overview

Call of Cthulhu: Shadow of the Comet came out in 1994 for MS-DOS, developed by Infogrames and published by I•Motion, Inc. It was one of those early point-and-click adventures that relied on mood and investigation rather than action, fitting right in with the slower, more thoughtful games of the era.

You play as a journalist named Parker, exploring the town of Illsmouth screen by screen, collecting clues and items while talking to unsettling locals. Your main goal is to uncover the truth behind a cosmic event tied to a recurring comet, using a first-person perspective to navigate and solve puzzles. The game emphasizes careful observation and inventory use, with a sanity mechanic that affects what you see as you progress. It moves deliberately, and some puzzles can be obscure, but the atmosphere pulls you through. Playing it feels like stepping into a fragile nightmare where every discovery pulls you deeper into the unknown.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
