Castles II: Siege & Conquest is a strategic medieval conquest game where you play as one of five rival nobles—Albion, Duke of Valois, Anjou, Aragon, or Burgundy—fighting to claim the throne of Bretagne. To win, you must amass 7,000 points and secure the Pope’s endorsement, maintaining your dominance for several in-game months while fending off rival attacks. Success requires a mix of military strength, diplomacy, espionage, and careful management of public and papal relations, as neighboring neutral lords and Church-controlled lands add layers of tactical depth.The game streamlines castle construction with pre-built templates and features detailed battle screens for unit command. Set in a fractured medieval France, players expand their territories, negotiate with the Church, and outmaneuver rivals in a campaign that typically spans 3–10 in-game years. Balancing aggression with political savvy is key, as the Pope’s favor and your subjects’ loyalty can make or break your claim to the crown.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
