Game Overview

Championship Golf - The Great Courses of the World - Volume I Pebble Beach is one of those old-school MS-DOS golf games that somehow still holds up. The first time I booted it up, I wasn’t expecting much—just some basic pixel greens and clunky swings. But then I saw the 8th hole, with its cliffside fairway and that tiny strip of land you have to hit across, and suddenly I was sweating like I was actually there.

The greens are brutal, just like the real Pebble Beach. You’ll line up a putt, think you’ve got it, and then watch in horror as the ball takes a hard left at the last second. And don’t even get me started on the wind—sometimes it feels like the game’s just messing with you. But that’s what makes sinking a long birdie putt so satisfying.

Yeah, the graphics are dated, but there’s something charming about the way the little golfer waggles his club before each shot. If you’ve ever wanted to play Pebble Beach without the airfare—or just miss the days when golf games were simple but punishing—this is the one.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
