I first played Chex Quest 3 when it was released as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection in 2008, developed by Digital Café. It was a freeware game that originally came in a cereal box, a strange but memorable piece of late '90s PC gaming history. The game runs on a modified Doom engine, so it feels immediately familiar to anyone who spent time with those early first-person shooters.

You control a soldier in a Chex armor suit, armed with a zapper that doesn't kill the Flemoid enemies but teleports them away. The goal is to clear each level of all monsters, navigating maze-like environments, finding keycards, and activating switches to progress. The pacing is brisk, with compact levels that encourage exploration without becoming tedious. It feels like a lighthearted, family-friendly twist on the classic run-and-gun formula.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
