Cyber Empires came out in 1992 from Strategic Simulations, Inc., one of those MS-DOS games that felt right at home in an era of deep, thoughtful strategy titles. It didn't try to dazzle with flashy graphics; it was more about the systems, the kind of game you'd load up after school and get absorbed in for hours.

You control a faction vying for dominance over a futuristic solar system, managing resources, researching technologies, and designing your own warships from scratch. The main goal is to conquer all rival colonies, which you achieve through a mix of careful economic planning and tactical fleet combat. You move ships between planets on a strategic map, engage in real-time battles where positioning and weapon choices matter, and constantly adapt your designs to counter opponents. The pacing is deliberate, with bursts of action, and the difficulty can be steep as the AI puts pressure on your expansion. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
