Game Overview

D-Day - America Invades came out in 1995 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Interactive Magic. It was a turn-based strategy title that fit right in with the kind of thoughtful, methodical games that were popular on PC at the time, offering a no-frills approach to historical simulation without the flash of arcade action.

You command Allied forces during the Normandy invasion, moving individual infantry, tanks, and landing craft across a hex-based map. The main objective is to secure key positions and push inland while managing limited resources and responding to German defenses. Signature mechanics include coordinating multi-unit assaults, accounting for terrain effects on movement and line of sight, and timing artillery barrages to soften enemy positions. The pacing is slow and deliberate, with a high difficulty that punishes careless advances; success depends on patience and foresight. It feels like solving a complex, deadly puzzle where every decision carries weight.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
