Game Overview

Dead 'n' Furious is one of those DS games that makes you wonder how they crammed so much chaos into a tiny cartridge. You start off with a pistol and about three seconds of peace before zombies start pouring in from every direction. The controls take a minute to get used to—you’ll be fumbling with the stylus while a ghoul chews on your pixelated arm—but once it clicks, blasting through waves of undead feels weirdly satisfying.

What surprised me was how much strategy sneaks in between the shooting. You’ve got limited ammo, so wasting bullets on a single shambler means you’re screwed when a dozen show up later. The atmosphere’s grimy in the best way, with dimly lit alleys and this creepy soundtrack that sounds like a broken radio. Not gonna lie, I died a lot at first, but figuring out when to run versus when to stand your ground is half the fun.

If you’ve got a soft spot for DS-era action games that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a blast—just maybe keep the volume down if you’re playing at night.
