Play Dig Dug-gamecube Online
Still that same satisfying crunch when you drop a boulder on a Pooka, just with cleaner pixels now. Holding the pump button while a Fygar sneaks up behind you never stops being stressful.
I first played Dig Dug on the Atari 2600 back in 1983, a version developed by Namco. It was one of those games that felt right at home on the system, simple in concept but with enough depth to keep you coming back. The graphics were blocky, the colors were basic, but it had a charm that fit the era perfectly.
You control a little guy named Dig Dug, and your job is to tunnel through the dirt to defeat enemies. The main goal is to clear each screen of all the Pookas and Fygars. You can either pump them up until they burst or drop rocks on them by digging out the ground beneath boulders. The pacing is methodical but tense, especially when multiple enemies are closing in. It feels satisfying to outsmart them with careful digging and well-timed attacks.
