Dragon Ball - Dai Maou Fukkattu [hFFE] (J) is an NES action-adventure that follows Goku through the Piccolo Daimao arc. It's rough around the edges—typical for an early Dragon Ball adaptation—but there's something charming about its simplicity.

You move through side-scrolling stages, punching through enemies and occasionally triggering short cutscenes from the manga. The controls feel stiff, and some attacks barely connect, but landing a solid Kamehameha still feels satisfying when it works. The sprites are basic, but you can tell who’s who, at least.

It’s not deep, and the difficulty spikes randomly, but if you grew up with the series, there’s nostalgia in seeing these moments play out in 8-bit. Just don’t expect anything close to modern Dragon Ball games.
