Game Overview

Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp came out in 1990 for MS-DOS, published by ReadySoft Incorporated. It was part of that wave of games trying to bring arcade-style animation to home computers, though the hardware of the time struggled to match the smoothness of the original laserdisc. You guide Dirk the Daring through a series of time-traveling adventures, each screen a beautifully drawn but deadly obstacle course.

You control Dirk indirectly, timing your inputs to match the action on screen. Your main goal is to survive each scene by pressing the correct direction or action key at just the right moment; hesitate or guess wrong, and Dirk meets a gruesome, animated end. The game progresses screen by screen, with no traditional combat or exploration, just quick reflexes and memorization. It's notoriously difficult, demanding perfect timing and plenty of repetition. Playing it feels like walking a tightrope over a pit of instant failures.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
