Play Dragon’s Lair III: The Curse of Mordread Online

Dirk’s back, fumbling through scrapped levels where Beethoven’s sheet music tries to crush you and Alice chases you with a frying pan—same brutal QTEs, just weirder. The pixelated Bluth animations give it charm, even when the MS-DOS colors bleed.

Game Overview

Dragon’s Lair III: The Curse of Mordread is one of those weird little fan projects that somehow feels more authentic than some official releases. It’s built from scrapped levels that never made it into the home version of Dragon’s Lair II—so yeah, you’re basically playing lost footage. Same old Dirk, same frantic "press the right button or die horribly" panic, but now you’re dodging falling sheet music in Beethoven’s house or getting chased by a very angry Alice in Wonderland.

The animation still has that gorgeous Don Bluth look, though the MS-DOS version means the colors are a little rougher than the arcade. Some of the QTEs feel downright unfair (classic Dragon’s Lair), but stumbling through these forgotten levels is weirdly satisfying if you’re into retro oddities. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand.

It’s more of a novelty than a must-play, but for anyone who grew up mashing buttons at arcades, there’s something special about seeing what got left on the cutting room floor.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
