Duke Nukem: Episode 1 Shrapnel City is where it all started, back when Duke was just a pixelated tough guy in a side-scroller instead of the wisecracking 3D icon he’d become. You jump, shoot, and punch your way through levels packed with robots, cameras (smash 'em for bonus points), and destructible scenery. It’s simple but satisfying, especially when you stumble on hidden power-ups or finally reach Dr. Proton for that last-stage boss fight.

This is pure early '90s Apogee: fast, chaotic, and packed with little details that made their games feel alive. The humor’s more subtle here than in Duke Nukem 3D, but you can already see the attitude forming. If you’ve only played the later games, it’s a fun blast of nostalgia, just don’t expect the depth of the sequels.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
