Game Overview

Earthworm Jim: Menace 2 the Galaxy came out for the Game Boy Color in 1999, published by Crave Entertainment. It was part of that wave of late 90s handheld games that tried to squeeze console-style action into a small screen, with mixed but often earnest results. This one follows Jim, a worm in a super suit, as he bounces through bizarre stages set in his own home, which has been invaded by all sorts of interstellar oddities.

You control Jim through side-scrolling levels, using his plasma blaster and his own worm body as a whip to attack enemies. The goal is to clear each area of foes, often while hunting for keys or switches to open up new paths. You'll platform across furniture, swing from hooks, and occasionally pilot a small rocket in shooter segments. The pace is fast, and some sections demand quick reflexes, especially with the limited view on the small screen. It feels chaotic and a little cramped, but there's a goofy charm to blasting aliens off the dresser.
