Game Overview

Final Fantasy I & II Advance is basically the best way to play these classics if you're stuck with a Game Boy Advance. I remember booting up FFI first—you get that old-school party creation where you pick four jobs (I always go Warrior, Thief, White Mage, Black Mage, no regrets) and suddenly you're thrown into a world where everything wants to fight you. The pixel art somehow looks even crisper here than the NES originals.

FFII's the weird one with that "get better at what you use" leveling system—swing swords a lot? Your strength goes up. Get hit constantly? Congrats, your HP's climbing. It takes some getting used to, but the story's surprisingly deep for an 8-bit game. Both games got extra dungeons in this version, plus some quality-of-life tweaks that make the grind less painful. Still tough, though—bring potions.

Perfect for long bus rides or pretending to pay attention in class back in the day. The music’s still incredible, even through GBA speakers.
