Game Overview

Fragile Alliance came out in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Interplay Productions. It was a time when real-time strategy was still finding its feet, and this one dropped you into a tense, resource-driven conflict in deep space. You begin with a shaky mining outpost on a remote asteroid, and things escalate quickly from there.

You control a commander overseeing mining operations and base defense. Your main goal is to harvest enough ore to fulfill your quota while fending off attacks from the alien Mauna, who resent your presence. Key mechanics include building and upgrading structures like refineries and turrets, managing a limited number of construction drones, and directing your mining ships to gather resources. The pacing is relentless; enemy raids often hit when your defenses are incomplete, forcing you to adapt on the fly. It feels like a constant scramble to stay one step ahead of disaster.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
