Game Overview

Psygnosis released Hexx: Heresy of the Wizard in 1994 as part of their MS-DOS Classic Games lineup. It was a time when first-person dungeon crawlers were a staple on the platform, offering a particular kind of methodical, grid-based adventure that demanded patience and a good memory for layouts.

You control a lone adventurer navigating a sprawling, multi-level dungeon, screen by screen. Your main goal is to explore this labyrinth, defeat the creatures within, and ultimately confront the wizard Zendick. You fight with a sword or a bow, manage a limited inventory of keys and items, and solve environmental puzzles, like finding hidden switches, to progress. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, and the difficulty is unrelenting, with deadly traps and powerful enemies around many corners. It feels like a tense, solitary test of your wits and endurance in a place that does not want you there.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
