Game Overview

So Hokuto no Ken on the Sega Master System—yeah, the one we got as Black Belt in the West—is this weird little beat 'em up from 1986. You play as Kenshiro, punching and kicking your way through waves of goons with that classic Fist of the North Star flair. The sprites are tiny but surprisingly detailed for the time, and the combat’s simple but satisfying when you land a combo just right.

It’s got that old-school arcade feel where enemies just keep coming, and the difficulty spikes hard if you’re not careful. The music’s repetitive but weirdly catchy after a while. Honestly, it’s more of a nostalgia trip than anything, but there’s something charming about how raw it is. Definitely one for fans of the manga or retro masochists.
