Play Hook on Msdos Online
Swing ropes and swordfight pirates as pixel-art Peter Pan—awkward jumps at first, but nailing that barrel leap over Hook’s LEGO-looking ship feels oddly great. Tinker Bell’s sass and Lost Boys getting in the way just add to the charm.

Hook came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Rainbow Arts. It was a time when side-scrolling platformers were common, and this one stood out by trying to capture the feel of the movie it was based on, without relying on flashy graphics or complex mechanics.
You control Peter Pan, navigating through levels by jumping across platforms, swinging on ropes, and fighting pirates with a simple sword slash. The main goal is to rescue the kidnapped children from Captain Hook, which involves exploring each screen methodically, collecting items, and occasionally dealing with environmental puzzles. The jumping can feel a bit stiff at first, and the combat is straightforward, but there's a certain satisfaction in timing a perfect swing over a gap or clearing a room of enemies. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes clumsy adventure that rewards persistence.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
