Play International Open Golf Championship Online
Swing your clubs, judge the wind, and aim for par as you navigate 18 holes in this MS-DOS golf sim.
International Open Golf Championship was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games release, a collection that bundled several titles without a clear developer or publisher attribution. It arrived during the era when golf simulations were finding an audience on home computers, offering a straightforward take on the sport without elaborate graphics or licensing deals.
You control a golfer from a top-down perspective, selecting clubs and judging wind conditions before each swing. The main objective is to complete 18 holes under par, navigating hazards like sand traps and water with careful aim. Signature mechanics include a power meter for swing strength and a directional arrow that sways with wind influence, demanding patience and precision. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and misjudging a putt can quickly ruin your scorecard. It feels like a quiet test of concentration, where every shot matters.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
