Game Overview

I first played Jumpman Lives! back in the early '90s, when Apogee Software released it as part of their MS-DOS Classic Games series. It was a time when shareware titles thrived, and this one stood out as a clever reimagining of the original Jumpman, bringing the platforming challenge to a new generation of PC gamers without the need for flashy graphics or complex backstories.

You control a small character tasked with climbing ladders, jumping across platforms, and defusing bombs while avoiding relentless robots and crumbling floors. The main objective is to clear each screen by reaching the exit before time runs out or hazards overwhelm you. Signature mechanics include careful timing to outmaneuver enemies, precise jumps to navigate disappearing blocks, and strategic use of gravity boots that let you walk on ceilings. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding quick reflexes and thoughtful route planning. It feels tense and rewarding when you finally beat a level that seemed impossible just moments before.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
