King of Fighters 2003 came out for the Neo Geo in 2003, developed and published by SNK. It was one of the later titles on the hardware, arriving as the fighting game scene was shifting toward newer consoles and arcade boards. You control a team of three fighters, tagging them in and out during matches. The main goal is to defeat your opponent's entire squad before they take out yours. Two major mechanics define the action: the Multi Shift system lets you swap characters at almost any time, even during combos, and the Leader system allows you to designate one fighter per team who can use a more powerful Super Special Move. Matches are fast, with aggressive AI that punishes predictable play. It feels tense and fluid, demanding quick decisions and adaptability round after round.
