Game Overview

Lexi-Cross came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series from Interplay Productions. It was one of those quiet, thoughtful puzzle games that felt right at home on the platform, offering a break from the action-heavy titles that dominated the era.

You control a cursor to select and flip letter tiles on a grid, trying to form words before a group of aliens does the same. The main objective is to clear the board by completing words, either horizontally or vertically, while competing against the computer's increasingly quick solutions. Key mechanics include strategic tile flipping to maximize word opportunities and blocking the aliens' potential moves to slow them down. The pace starts relaxed but quickly becomes tense as the aliens speed up, demanding fast thinking and a good vocabulary. It feels like a high-stakes race against a clever opponent where every move matters.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
