Game Overview

Lombard RAC Rally came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, a collection that brought various titles to a wider audience. It was originally developed by Magnetic Fields and published by Krisalis Software, placing it among the early wave of serious rally sims for home computers. This was a time when 3D graphics were still a novelty, and racing games often relied on a mix of technical ambition and creative shortcuts to deliver a convincing experience.

You control a rally driver from a first-person perspective, seeing the road unfold directly ahead as if from the cockpit. Your main objective is to complete a series of challenging stages across different terrains, from gravel to snow, within strict time limits. The game's signature mechanics include listening to your co-driver's pace notes, which are often muffled and require intense focus, and managing your car's damage and tire wear over long distances. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is unforgiving; a single mistake can send you into a tree or a ditch, ending your run. It feels like a constant battle against the clock and the landscape, demanding precision and patience with every turn.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
