Play Megaman 5 Online

Proto Man’s acting shady, Dr. Light’s gone missing, and you’re blasting through gravity-flipping stages with a bird buddy who breaks the game in the best way. That "brotherly betrayal" smells fishy from the start.

Game Overview

Mega Man 5 starts with Proto Man—or at least someone who looks like him—suddenly going rogue and kidnapping Dr. Light. The whole thing feels off from the jump, and Mega Man’s clearly torn between stopping the chaos and figuring out why his "brother" would pull a stunt like this. The scarf left behind? Classic Proto Man, but something’s not right.

This time around, you’ve got a slightly juiced-up Mega Buster and a new ally in Dr. Cossack, who’s basically filling in for Light while he’s MIA. Oh, and Beat the bird? Cute addition, though I mostly used him to cheese certain sections. The robot masters are as weirdly themed as ever (Gravity Man’s stage still messes with my head), and that final twist? Yeah, no spoilers, but let’s just say the scarf wasn’t the only red herring.

It’s classic NES-era Mega Man—tight controls, punishing jumps, and that sweet, sweet victory when you finally crack a boss’s pattern. The soundtrack’s got a few bangers too.
