Mutant Penguins came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Titus Interactive. It was one of those early 90s PC titles that felt right at home alongside other puzzle platformers of the era, offering a quirky premise without a lot of fanfare. You don't hear about it too often, but it had a certain charm that stuck with players who gave it a shot.

You control either a scientist or a robot, tasked with herding penguins across a series of single-screen levels. The goal is to guide the normal penguins safely into igloos while trapping the mutant ones before they can freeze the water and block your path. You move block by block, pushing ice and avoiding hazards, with the mutants multiplying if left unchecked. The pace is frantic; mistakes pile up quickly, and the screen can become unmanageable in just a few missteps. It feels like a race against chaos, where every move counts and the tension rarely lets up.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
