Neural Ned in Ned's World is one of those MS-DOS Classic Games releases from 0 that never quite broke into the mainstream, but it has a small, dedicated following. I don't recall the developer offhand, but it fits right in with the experimental, often surreal platformers that popped up in the early 90s, trying to do something different with the limited color palettes and sound capabilities of the era.

You control Ned, a sentient brain who navigates a surreal, biological landscape by bouncing from one spongy platform to the next. The main goal is to navigate each screen, avoiding enemies like floating eyeballs and spiked neurons, while collecting glowing thought bubbles to unlock the exit. The signature mechanics involve precise, momentum-based jumping across unstable synapse pathways and solving environmental puzzles by triggering nerve impulses to change the stage layout. The pacing is deliberate, almost puzzle-like, and the difficulty comes from the unpredictable enemy patterns and the need for perfect timing on jumps that feel just a little bit slippery. It feels like carefully picking your way through a chaotic, living circuit board.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
