Game Overview

Pokémon Infernal Legend is one of those ROM hacks that actually makes you forget you're playing a fan game. Right from the start, you're thrown into this world where fire-types aren't just an option—they're basically the law. Your starter choices? All flames, obviously. I went with the weird little salamander thing and zero regrets.

The sprite work here is seriously impressive for a beta—gym leaders look meaner, the overworld has this cool ashy vibe, and yeah, you'll definitely get your butt kicked a few times. That third gym leader with the volcanic theme? Absolute nightmare (in the best way).

What surprised me was how much new stuff they crammed in while keeping that classic GBA feel. There's some new evolutions for forgotten fire-types, moves that actually make sense for once, and rivals who don't just roll over. Still rough around the edges in spots, but way more polished than most hacks at this stage.
