Rainbow Invaders is like Space Invaders cranked up to eleven with a shot of pure chaos. You've got the classic setup—rows of pixelated aliens creeping left and right, dropping lower each time they hit the edge, while your little ship scoots along the bottom blasting away. But here's where things get wild: those invaders drop power-ups, and most of them are more like curses than gifts.

One second you're grabbing a shot that speeds up your ship, the next you're stuck with inverted controls or bullets that turn invisible. There's no safe zone—no shields to duck behind unless you pull back on the joystick, and even that drains your energy so hard you're left frozen for a second afterward. Half the time, you're just praying the next rainbow-colored drop doesn't make the aliens move at hyperspeed or send homing shots straight at you.

The real panic sets in when a random invader starts blinking. Miss that one in time? Either a fresh wave spawns or your ship goes boom.
